I’ve worked with tons of different kinds of cameras. The one I’m most intimately familiar with is the Canon 60D.
However, I refuse to take a DSLR because it would be like carrying around an expensive, delicate brick everywhere I go. I also prefer to blend in whenever I travel. I know it’s pretty hard for a white American female to keep a low profile in a lot of international places, but at least if I’m not keep this expensive necklace around my neck, it alleviates some of the pressure.
Perhaps, if the World Race was more like a World Cruise where I worried more about my tan lines than where I would be sleeping the next week or more worried about if I have time to fit attending the puppet dancing show in my vacation schedule instead of throwing on a puppet dancing show for kids in an orphanage…who am I kidding? I still wouldn’t want to carry it around because traveling light is my number one priority in life.
Before I leave in January, I’m actually going to try and sell some of my possessions before I go (including the Canon 60D, so if you’re interested…)
This is an attempt to supplement my journey, but also so I don’t leave a huge footprint behind. Though I’m sure my parents are fully ready to be treated like the loving warehouse they are! (Love you, mean it….)
So far I have a camera, a bike, a skateboard, desk lamps, camping lantern, and tons of other miscellaneous items that I am still organizing through. If any of those sounds appealing or you’re interested, let me know. I’ll cut ya a deal or…
Sweet dreams!
