UPDATE

Greetings everyone!

I made it back to Michigan. My roadtrip to Montana and back was amazing. I got to encourage believers and former World Racers (and they encouraged me!), I got to spend time with my family in Indiana and Nebraska, I got to go hiking in some amazing spots, and just spend some quality time with God (and Little Foot).

Thank you for the prayers over me and my car (Clark) as we explored some more of the USA together. I thought it might be helpful to dive into more details of what I am getting involved in for those interested. I am still researching what blog/email format would be best to use moving forward so for now I will share my heart here.

WHAT

I am going to be an English Camp Counselor in Austria leading a cabin of 3 – 8 campers in daily activities, helping teach English, and sharing about Jesus.

Daily activities include things like swimming, hiking, water games, field games, a city game, and sports. 

WHEN & COST

July 5th – July 23^rd 2022

$1200 + Airfare (which so far looks like $1500)

I am planning to leave on June 27^th to take some extra time to get acclimated and explore the surrounding area.

Pfons is 3,422′ above sea level which isn't as high as Denver, but I'll probably still be huffing from the change.

WHERE

Camp takes place simultaneously at two locations in Austria – in Salzburg and Pfons. Currently, I have been assigned to the Pfons location (random photo from the internet).

WHY

My heart is always to share the love of Christ wherever I go and what better way to share the love of Christ with youth in Austria than to do life with them for a week. I want to give them hope for their future and encourage those who are already walking with Jesus in their faith.

I went to camp growing up and I know how big a role the people at camp can play in your life. I want to be a part of creating that safe place for youth where they can come and ask hard questions and learn about their identity in Jesus.

WHO – IS THE SENDING ORGANIZATION

ReachGlobal is through the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA). After reading their Statement of Faith, going through a background check, completing 2.5 hours of Child Protection training, and having a phone interview with them, I have every confidence that we are a good match for one another.

PRAYER REQUESTS

• To get fully funded. They won't book my flight until I am fully funded and the longer it takes, the more the cost rise. Also, how about them gas prices? Yikes!
• For the Austrian youth I will get to minister to this summer.
• For strength, patience, and endurance. I’m already prepping myself for long, strenuous days ahead, but thank God they like coffee in Austria!
• For quality community time while I am here in Michigan.
• My grandfather is on hospice and probably does not have much longer to live. Pray for my family during this time.
